I can’t express how excited I am for Star Trek: Picard… well okay that’s not true, this would be a very short post if that were true.
But seriously, just a few years ago I never would have thought this would be happening. The Next Generation era had gone by the wayside, replaced with prequels and reboots, and that was just the way of things.
Now we get to return to the era and at least one of the characters I grew up with, Picard.
We don’t really know what exactly will be happening in this new series, which I’m fine with. It doesn’t feel like it’ll be Picard galloping around the cosmos like the old days. Someone once said that was a game for the young.
I expect we’ll get some details at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con panel on July 20th. This seems to be the event where they’re going to really start pushing the marketing, now that the second season of Discovery is out of the way and we’re getting ever closer to the premier.
Until then, we’ll just have to hold our breath.
